The Intermediate Big Data and Bioinformatics workshop is a week-long workshop that aims to provide participants with intermediate-level knowledge and practical skills in analysing shotgun metagenomic sequencing data using commonly used bioinformatics tools and workflows.

The workshop will focus on how to:

• Perform quality control and preprocessing of shotgun metagenomic sequencing data

• Conduct taxonomic profiling and characterise microbial community composition.

• To perform phylogenetic and evolutionary analysis of selected pathogens.

• Interpret and visualise metagenomic analysis results using reproducible bioinformatics workflows.
