LEARNING OBJECTIVES
ABOUT
CPGR, in collaboration with DIPLOMICS, is delighted to present a hands-on Practical Training in Genomics Techniques scheduled from 27 July - 6 August 2026, in Cape Town. This training course will be fully funded for selected candidates excluding travel and accommodation to attend this course at the CPGR Laboratory at 108 Albert Road, Woodstock in Cape Town during the specified dates.
The training course is designed to provide hands-on practical training in genomics workflows specifically for 2026 first-year MSc and PhD students only, encompassing DNA extraction and Quality Control, PCR, Real-Time PCR, 16S library prep, Next Generation Sequencing.
Training Objectives
The training course aims to:
• Provide hands-on practical training in genomics workflows (DNA extractions and quality control, real-time PCR analysis and NGS) to advanced students.
• Demonstrate what can be achieved with the techniques, and how expertise in genomics can be integrated into career development.
