Upcoming Training

The workshop is a 3-day workshop to be hosted by the SAMRC Genomics Platform and delivered by South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) trainers.

The workshop aims to provide participants with an understanding of the requirements for implementing and maintaining a laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

The workshop will cover:

• Introduce participants to the principles and requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the SANAS accreditation process.

• Develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of laboratory personnel in maintaining a compliant QMS.

• Provide practical knowledge of quality processes, documentation, risk management, and continual improvement.

• Enable participants to apply ISO/IEC 17025:2017 principles within a genomics laboratory environment.

• Build awareness of the requirements needed to support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of an accredited genomics laboratory.

Requirements:

Participants need a basic understanding of laboratory operations and experience contributing to a genomics or molecular laboratory. No prior formal training in ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is required. Participants should be willing to engage with quality management principles and consider how the requirements apply to their own laboratory activities.
