This is a one-day workshop will focus on the basic principles of different sequencing platforms and how to incorporate these technologies, and associated Bioinformatics data analysis requirements for next-generation DNA sequencing to achieve a defined research objective.
The 1-day workshop will cover:
Overview of the different technologies and their applications.
Bioinformatics considerations (Data requirements, workflow and BIF infrastructure requirements)
Practical planning (NGS project planning worksheet/flow diagram)
Sampling (Statistically significant, sample storage)
Optimisation for DNA extraction QC discussion
Experimental design and budgeting for an NGS project
Case study and general project planning discussions and Q & A
