This one-day workshop connects the research question with sampling, sequencing, bioinformatics and budget
requirements.
The 1-day workshop will cover:
Selecting an appropriate NGS approach for the research question
Key considerations when designing an NGS project
Determining sample numbers and developing a sampling strategy
Sampling and statistical considerations for metagenomics studies
Planning the bioinformatics and data-analysis component
Sample collection, DNA extraction and quality requirements

Budget planning and an introduction to Nanopore library preparation
