ABOUT

This is a one-day workshop will focus on the basic principles of different sequencing platforms and how to incorporate these technologies, and associated Bioinformatics data analysis requirements for next-generation DNA sequencing to achieve a defined research objective.


The 1-day workshop will cover:


  • Overview of the different technologies and their applications.

  • Bioinformatics considerations (Data requirements, workflow and BIF infrastructure requirements)

  • Practical planning (NGS project planning worksheet/flow diagram)

  • Sampling (Statistically significant, sample storage)

  • Optimisation for DNA extraction QC discussion

  • Experimental design and budgeting for an NGS project

  • Case study and general project planning discussions and Q & A

  • NGS community networking opportunity
