LEARNING OBJECTIVES

ABOUT

Reconstructing SAGs & MAGs with KBase workshop is a two-day workshop that will focus on the bioinformatic applications for biologists implemented in the KBase environment. Through the workshop, we will demonstrate the capabilities of KBase as an alternative to command-line tools. The KBase platform is hardware agnostic, and participants will be able to use their own devices in the workshop. No previous bioinformatic experience is required.

The 2-day workshop will cover:

  • Introduction to the KBase platform

  • Reconstruction of genomes from single amplified genomes and metagenome sequencing data

  • Implementation of standard bioinformatic protocols

  • Data handling and submission to NCBI
