Open Science for Computational Omics Research

ABOUT

Open science, and Open access to data have become commonly used terminology in the field of omics.  DIPLOMICS hosted part 3 of a 3-part Open science workshop series, presented by Talarify to the DIPLOMICS community.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the conclusion of the hands-on workshop, participants will:

  • Be able to recall open science concepts covered in the initial workshop;

  • Understand the basics of open licenses applied to code and software;

  • Explain why documenting steps in a data analysis workflow is essential for transparent and reproducible science;

  • Recall methods for documenting information about data analysis workflows;

  • Describe a workflow incorporating version control and software citation elements such as git, GitHub, and Zenodo
